Because the classic Mojito is such a popular cocktail it is nice to think of some variations on the classic recipe. This Mojito Passion is a variation with passion fruit. One of my favorite fruits. Besides the nice look and feel the passion fruit gives this cocktail, it gives it an even smoother taste.
What do you need for a Mojito Passion?
White rum (1,5 part)
Lime (1 lime)
Nectar of half a passion fruit
Cane sugar or Monin passion (2 bar spoons)
Sparkling water (0,5 part)
1 part = 30 ml
How do you make a Mojito Passion?
For this cocktail we are going to use a traditional mojito glass. We prepare the cocktail straight into the glass. In this variant we are going to use the nectar of a passion fruit in the mojito. We add the nectar after the muddling. Start with cutting up the lime in 4 pieces. Add three to the glass with the cane sugar and muddle for about three to four strokes. If you muddle more intensive the bitterness of the lime takes over. Now add the rum, mint and passion fruit to the glass. Give it a small stir and fill up the glass with crushed ice. Top it of with sparkling water and add if necessary more crushed ice. Garnish the cocktail with half a passion fruit, mint leaves or the lime part ypu have left.
Whitour alcohol??
Because of the combination of different flavors in this cocktail it is a perfect cocktail to make without alcohol. It still has enough flavor to taste really good!
